The highlight is the site of ancient Karthea. Non accessible by car or motorbike, 14 nautical miles from Vourkari, or 7 miles from Koundouros bay, it is worth visiting, to witness the ongoing archaeological excavation and research. Karthea was an important ancient coastal town and harbor. Today, you can observe the ancient dock 135 meters in length, visible at 2- 3 meters below the surface. This is an ideal snorkeling destination, in as always sparkling clear water.
A place not to be missed!!
